So, who saw episode 7? How was it?

It was AWESOME!!!! All the new characters were very interesting, particularly Kylo Ren who has finally stopped the rot with the disappointing Star Wars villains from the new trilogy (General Grievous I am looking at you particularly). The old crew were great as well, particularly Harrison Ford. The story was cool and can’t wait to see where it goes for Episode 8 x

It was better than episode 1 worse than episode 4. and the biggest problem are the villains, Kylo Ren is the worst for most of the movie he is eathe sulking, whining or throwing a temper tantrum. He is a petulant child not a Sith Lord. and the others also have problems.

I thought it was amazing and exceeded my expectations, but yeah Kylo Ren was a really dull villain. I hope he gets replaced somehow in the next films.

I thought it was fine. Better than the prequels (not a hard thing to do) but not as good as the classic ones. Maybe because it felt a bit too programmed and PC, I don’t know. I agree that Kylo Ren started very well and became another braty Anakin. And the way Rey suddenly became a super mega jedi warrior out of thing air kinda made everything cheap. I also felt that Finn and poe dameron were wasted. Definitely, Harrison Ford made the movie very enjoyable. Other than that it was fun. I’d give it and 8.5.

Nah screw it I’d give it an 8

I also had a problem with Finn, it is his backstory and demeanor. His backstory is he was a stormtrooper since a young child, and defects after seeing a fellow stormtrooper die in front of him. now for his actions to defect and after are fine, but throughout the movie he acts way to eager and happy to see people that for most of his life were the closest thing to family for him die.

For this criticisms and others I’d give it a 7. A little bit more care in the characters, bit better fight choreography, a more distinctive final fighter battle, less redundant plot, and some tighter editing the film would be fantastic. a workable start for a new trilogy, but more work needs to be put in for Episode 8 and 9.
I’m looking forward to Rouge One next year more than this one as Rouge Is actually trying new things for the franchise in film.

They should seriously stop planning ahead whole trilogies, especially when they’re rebooting stuff like this. IMO this gets very awkward very fast — you can just take a glance at the current Marvel Studios disasters. Their Avengers epic works well, but every time they go off the constant loop to deliver things like “Guardians of the Galaxy” or “Fantastic Four” it’s always fucking curtains.
And besides, if you’re settling in for a whole new story, then, why bring up this pseudo-canon nonsense?
          Urgh.

Actually not planing most often gets far bigger problems than planing in advance. Look at Lost or Battlestar Galactica as examples were not planning ended up in disaster. On the other hand Babylon 5 or the original star wars trilogy are examples were planning worked out.

After thinking the real problem is not having no plan, it is really not having a ending time determined. For example, if you already have decided that you are making a trilogy of films. You have just 4 and a half to 9 hours (using the two most often extreme’s for film lengths of 90 min to 3 hours) to tell the story, and thus plan accordingly. It is when there is no ending planed ithere are problems.

      Wrong franchise, moron.

And that line about George Lucas making Hamill pay for every light saber he breaks has some truth to it (source: DVD commentary).
