I always wondered how they used Homer’s model to design Krusty’s face, yet there were so many characters to choose from… although that provided, we’d never have the ep where Homer goes to clown college.

IIRC Very early on in Simpsons development, the idea the writers was throwing around was that Krusty was Homer in disguise. It was to be a huge irony that Bart didn’t get along with his father, and yet “krusty the klown” was his hero. Somewhere along production this idea was dropped, but Krusty’s iconic design remained. Must’ve been an early idea due to the classic season 1 ep 12 ‘Krusty gets Busted’.

Exactly, because he doesn’t look remotely like Sideshow Bob. When I first watched it, I even thought it was Homer trying to frame Krusty. Crazy idea, but, you know…

you know, maybe Homer did frame Krusty and for 20+ years, he has been walking a free man.

picture the last episode of the Simpsons, in the style of The Usual Suspects, with Homer leaving the police station, his gait changing from a boor to a suave strut. With one flick of the comb across his scalp, a long wave of hair magically appears.
As Wiggum drops his mug on the floor, Homer approaches a car, that has just pulled up to the sidewalk. He takes a last drag on a cigarette and flicks it away. Jumps in the passenger seat, turns to look at the driver, Skinner (who is back to his cool, rebel self) or maybe Amber Simpson, and they drive away, leaving Springfield, never to return.

Yeah, sure. But I got just one question: then who the fuck was framing Homer himself in the Kwik-e-Mart that night he framed Krusty? Was it… Krusty?

Krusty and Homer knew that’s how it would pan out. A few days in The Clink was a small investment in order to reap the rewards of revenge against sideshow Bob. And Homer regretted marrying Marge the minute he realized family life wasn’t for him.

While Ned didn’t remember anything about Vegas, Homer knew exactly what was going on – that’s why he got Power of Attorney over Ned’s affairs. He was slowly siphoning off profits from the Leftorium via a phony non-profit church he founded (remember the Flanders give to over 20 different churches, just to hedge their bets, and Homer is an ordained minister).

As did he know that H.W. Bush would eventually move in as a neighbor – perfect opportunity to use his own son in order to ruin Bush’s reputation, so that America would never vote for Jeb in 2016.

I actually think that would actually be the best ending The Simpsons can possibly have at this point, with Homer having a secret account with his royalties from the Be Sharps as well just to rub salt into the wounds lol

Yeah. And I’m pretty sure the clown college episode was supposed to be a reference to this, with Homer getting mistaken for the real Krusty.

Kent Brockman and Principal Skinner have similar faces too. Not identical, but they definitely look like they could be related.
